The Villages have a long association with the Morecambe Bay estuary and many locals make their living from fishing. The Villages have a long history, it was awarded a charter way back in 1278 by King Edward I and are mentioned in the doomsday book.
Cark and Flookburgh provide all the amenities associated with a town that's much bigger. There are various public houses serving food, restaurant, local shop, hair and beauty salon, fish and chip shop, chemist, butchers and post office.
While you are at the Park there's an abundance of activity's to occupy you and your family, whether you fancy hiking in the still unspoilt Lake District or getting a different perspective by organizing a horse trek across Morecambe Bay Sands. Other local attractions include golf, fishing, clay shooting, bridleways, cycling and bird watching. Or perhaps you want to brush up on your local history? Within easy distance is Holker Hall, Levens Hall and the enchanting Brantwood house home of John Ruskin.
The Park is located in an area that provides the best of both worlds. It is tranquil and quiet but ideally located for ease of access just 20 minutes drive from junction 36 on the M6.
Ten minute walk away is the railway station linking the Park with the rest of the country. In fact London is just over 3½ hours away, so why be stressed out when the Park is within such easy reach?
